TMEX reports the 3rd Quarter of 2023 EWR Market statistics (01.07-30.09.2023).

3rd Quarter of 2023 highlights on the agricultural commodity trades in Electronic Warehouse Receipts (EWR) Market in Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TMEX) are as follows:
- As of the beginning of 2023, the trading value reached to TRY 60,6 billion, with a trading volume of 9 million tons and 244,000 transactions.
- The number of investors engaging in trading platform has reached 80,000.
- The total number of registered investors on the trading platform has reached 213,000.
- There are currently 181 actively licensed warehouses providing services in 254 branches, 45 cities, and 134 districts.
- The licensed warehouse capacity has achieved a record of 9.6 million tons.
- In the 3rd quarter of 2023; the trading value, trading volume, and number of transactions were recorded at TRY 37 billion, 5 million tons and 176,000 respectively.
In the 3rd Quarter of 2023, information regarding the leading products in terms of daily average traded volume is provided below for the main traded agricultural commodities:
- Milling Wheat: 35,190 tons
- Corn: 22,432 tons
- Barley: 11,774 tons
- Durum Wheat: 9,764 tons
- Paddy: 544 tons
- Sunflower Seed: 319 tons
The seasonal trading value and volume for the traded products are provided comparatively with the same period in 2022:
- Milling Wheat’s trading value increased by 14% to TRY 18.1 billion; and the trading volume decreased by 10% to 2,252,177 tons.
- Corn’s trading value increased by 145% to TRY 7.6 billion TL; and the trading volume increased by 158% to 1,413,197 tons.
- Barley’s trading value increased by 30% to TRY 2 billion; and trading volume increased by 8% to 753,508 tons.
- Durum Wheat’s trading value decreased by 32% to TRY 5.4 billion; and trading volume decreased by 46% to 624,909 tons
- Sunflower Seed’s trading value decreased by 38% to TRY 232.8 billion; trading volume decreased by 41% to 17,565 tons
- Paddy’s trading value increased by 104% to TRY 169.8 million; and trading volume increased by 34% to 8,696 tons.
The changes in Agricultural Commodity Indices for the 3rd Quarter of 2023, based on month-end closing values, are provided as follows:
- Wheat Index value increased by 12.19% to 3,533.55.
- Bread Wheat Index value increased by 11.03% to 3,458.89.
- Durum Wheat Index value increased by 10.38% to 4,085.54.
- Corn Index value increased by 5.55% to 2,986.673.
- Barley Index value increased by 3.49% to 2,999.08.
- Grain Index value increased by 9,67% to 3,378.46.
