TMEX reports the 4nd Quarter of 2023 EWR Market statistics (01.10-31.12.2023)

4nd Quarter of 2023 highlights on the agricultural commodity trades in Electronic Warehouse Receipts (EWR) Market in Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TMEX) are as follows:

· As of the beginning of 2023, the trading value reached to TRY 82,0 billion, with a trading volume of 12 million tons and 331 thousand transactions.
· The number of investors engaging in trading platform has reached 95 thousand.
· The total number of registered investors on the trading platform has reached 216 thousand.
· There are currently 186 actively licensed warehouses providing services in 261 branches, 45 cities, and 136 districts.
· The licensed warehouse capacity has achieved a record of 10,0 million tons.
· In the 4nd quarter of 2023; the trading value, trading volume, and number of transactions were recorded at TRY 21,4 billion, 3 million tons and 87 thousand respectively.

In the 4nd Quarter of 2023, information regarding the leading products in terms of daily average traded volume is provided below for the main traded agricultural commodities:

· Corn: 33.542 tons
· Milling Wheat: 9.570 tons
· Durum Wheat: 2.696 tons
· Barley: 2.073 tons
· Sunflower Seed: 303 tons
· Soybean: 210 tons

The seasonal trading value and volume for the traded products are provided comparatively with the same period in 2022:

· Corn’s trading value increased by 19% to 12,9 billion TRY; trading volume increased by 11% to 2.180.251 tons.
· Milling Wheat’s trading value increased by 44% to 5,2 billion TRY; trading volume decreased by 10% to 622.069 tons.
· Durum Wheat’s trading value increased by 38% to 1,6 billion TRY; trading volume increased by 14% to 175.239 tons.
· Barley’s trading value increased by 44% to 913,8 million TRY; trading volume increased by 17% to 134.726 tons.
· Sunflower Seed’s trading value decreased by 32% to 253,1 million TRY; trading volume decreased by 44% to 17.589 tons.
· Soybean’s trading value increased by 49% to 163,8 million TRY; trading volume increased by 18% to 12.160 tons.

The changes in Agricultural Commodity Indices for the 4nd Quarter of 2023, based on month-end closing values, are provided as follows:

· Wheat Index value increased by 16,58% to 4.098,54.
· Milling Wheat Index value increased by 22,31% to 4.219,82.
· Durum Wheat Index value increased by 7,65% to 4.266,31.
· Corn Index value increased by 12,64% to 3.389,67.
· Barley Index value increased by 29,28% to 3.806,99.
· Grain Index value increased by 15,33% to 3.882,07.
