Exchange Membership

Organizations granted an intermediary license by the Ministry of Trade (Ministry) under the Regulations on Intermediary Activities and Supervision and Inspection of Intermediaries at the Turkish Mercantile Exchange (Intermediary Regulations), published in the Official Gazette on April 20, 2019, No. 30751, are eligible to become members of the Exchange. 

The regulations governing entities seeking membership in the Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TMEX/Exchange) as intermediaries in the Electronic Warehouse Receipt Market (EWR Market) are detailed below:

The membership process for the TMEX EWR Market involves the following steps: 

1. Eligibility: Determining whether the intermediary institution meets the membership criteria under the Intermediary Regulations and has obtained an intermediary licence from the Ministry.
2. Application: Submitting the required documents and forms to uye@turib.com.tr and apply for membership with the Exchange.
3. Approval: The Exchange’s Board of Directors reviews the application and makes a final decision.
4. Finalization: Issuance of the Membership Certificate.

The process for appointing a member representative in the TMEX EWR Market consists of the following steps: 

• Training: Successfully completing the required training programs for the EWR Market and passing the associated exams. 

• Finalization: Issuing the member representative certificate and registering the representative in the Exchange Trading System upon the Member’s application. 

Intermediaries who will operate in the TMEX Tawarruq Market are determined by the decision of the Exchange’s Board of Directors and must receive approval from the Ministry. These institutions may become members of the Exchange without being subject to the Intermediary Regulations. The membership fee schedule is provided below.

(1) The membership registration fee and annual membership fee shall be increased in accordance with the revaluation rate published in the Official Gazette pursuant to paragraph (B) of Article 298 of the Tax Procedure Law No. 213 dated January 4, 1961, in January of each calendar year.
