TMEX RECEIVES THE “VOICES OF AI INNOVATION” AWARD WITH ITS AI-POWERED SURVEILLANCE PLATFORM ATİP

08.05.2026

The Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TMEX) was honored with an award in the “Voices of AI Innovation” category by IDC for its project titled “From Data to Trust: AI-Powered Market Reliability at the Turkish Mercantile Exchange.” The award recognizes projects that create enterprise-scale value through artificial intelligence technologies.

Held in Sapanca on 6–7 May 2026 under the theme “The Rise of Agentic Systems,” the 17th IDC CIO Summit featured the “Voices of AI Innovation” program, which highlights projects that integrate artificial intelligence, generative AI, or agent-based AI technologies into corporate strategy; generate measurable business outcomes, transform complex processes, adopt responsible AI principles and operate successfully in production environments.

Integrated into TMEX Trading System—the next-generation trading infrastructure developed entirely through the internal resources of the TMEX R&D Center—the ATİP (Algorithmic Detection and Monitoring Platform) has introduced an AI-powered market surveillance approach designed to strengthen market reliability, transparency and transaction integrity in agricultural commodity markets. ATİP positions artificial intelligence not merely as a technological tool, but as a strategic infrastructure component that enhances market confidence, compliance, surveillance efficiency and regulatory capacity.

  • FROM DATA TO TRUST: AI-SUPPORTED MARKET SURVEILLANCE WITH ATİP

ATİP was developed to analyze transaction and order data generated in TMEX markets in order to detect unusual trading behaviors, anomaly patterns, and potential market-disrupting activities more quickly and effectively. By integrating machine learning, behavioral analytics, anomaly detection, investor profiling and relationship network analysis into surveillance processes, the platform transforms market monitoring from static rule-based controls into a more proactive, data-driven, and traceable structure.

Operating in full integration with TMEX Trading System, ATİP provides a comprehensive surveillance environment through capabilities such as real-time data processing, alert generation, interactive market visualization, structured reporting and market replay functions that allow historical transaction flows to be re-examined. As a result, market surveillance specialists are able not only to identify unusual activities, but also to evaluate transaction flows, underlying data and the reasoning behind model outputs in a transparent and traceable manner.

Developed through TMEX’s in-house expertise, ATİP was methodologically strengthened through academic studies supported under the TÜBİTAK 1005 National New Ideas and Products Research Support Program and brought into a production environment through the TMEX R&D Center’s expertise in data analytics, market surveillance and financial technologies.

  • A NEW PHASE IN TMEX’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY

TMEX has previously received recognition from IDC for projects contributing to the digital transformation of the agricultural ecosystem. Commenting on the award, TMEX CEO Ali Kırali stated:

“As TMEX, we are working toward establishing a reliable, transparent and efficient market infrastructure in agricultural commodity markets. Developed as an integrated component of our exchange trading platform TMEX Trading System, ATİP transforms data from being merely a monitored element into an active institutional capability that strengthens market reliability. Receiving this award within the scope of IDC Voices of AI Innovation is extremely valuable for us in terms of the international recognition of our work and it also serves as an important motivation to further advance our activities in these areas in the coming period.”
