TMEX reports the 4th Quarter of 2024 EWR Market statistics (01.10-31.12.2024)

4th Quarter of 2024 highlights on the agricultural commodity trades in Electronic Warehouse Receipts (EWR) Market in Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TMEX) are as follows:

  • As of the beginning of 2024, the trading value reached to TRY 66,6 billion, with a trading volume of 7,4 million tons and 200 thousand transactions.
  • There are currently 225 actively licensed warehouses providing services in 306 branches, 49 cities, and 144 districts.
  • The licensed warehouse capacity has achieved a record of 12,2 million tons.

In the 4th Quarter of 2024, information regarding the leading products in terms of daily average traded volume is provided below for the main traded agricultural commodities:

  • Corn: 13.561 to
  • Bread Wheat: 3.443 tons
  • Durum Wheat: 2.538 tons
  • Barley: 724 tons
  • Soybean: 384 tons
  • Sunflower Seed: 571 tons

The seasonal trading value and volume for the traded products are provided comparatively with the same period in 2023:

  • Corn’s trading value decreased by 39,9% to 7,7 billion TRY; trading volume decreased by 59,6% to 881.466 tons.
  • Bread Wheat’s trading value decreased by 53,8% to 2,4 billion TRY; trading volume decreased by 64% to 223.780 tons.
  • Durum Wheat’s trading value increased by 16,3% to 1,9 billion TRY; trading volume decreased by 5,8% to 165.000 tons.
  •  Barley’s trading value decreased by 58,4% to 380,5 million TRY; trading volume decreased by 65% to 47.091 tons.
  • Soybean’s trading value increased by 136,7% to 387,6 million TRY; trading volume increased by 99,1% to 24.206 tons.
  • Sunflower Seed’s trading value increased by 143% to 614,9 million TRY; trading volume increased by 46,2% to 25.710 tons.

The changes in Agricultural Commodity Indices for the 4th Quarter of 2024, based on month-end closing values, are provided as follows:

  • Wheat Index value increased by 1,92% to 5.088,45.
  • Bread Wheat Index value decreased by 0,89% to 5.142,50.
  • Durum Wheat Index value increased by 12,33% to 5.453,12.
  • Corn Index value decreased by 9,47% to 4.686,52.
  • Barley Index value increased by 3,20% to 4.388,72.
  • Grain Index value increased by 0,01% to 4.905,00.
